A martini themed wedding is classy, sophisticated and full of swanky retro fun.
Imagine this... Your guests, with martini's in hand, kicking back in lounge chairs situated around the dance floor, live music playing the likes of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald, a swanky bar in the corner with a dazzling glassware display and you and your significant other sharing your first dance together as husband and wife in the midst of it all.
Sound like fun? Need some ideas for planning your very own martini themed wedding? Read on.
Color Scheme:
The colors for a martini themed wedding are classic - black and white with a splash of red. You could also skip the red completely and add more retro accents of color such as purple, green, blue, orange or pink.

Place Card Holders / Table Names ~ When your guests arrive at your wedding reception and are looking for their table assignment, spice it up a bit and "name" your tables rather than number them. Use names from the 1960's icons, such as Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, Ella Fitzgerald or Miles Davis, to name a few.
Table Decorations ~ Sticking with our classic color theme, we love white tablecloths with a black runner though the middle. For the centerpiece, a large martini glass filled with our accent color of red in the form of bouquets of red roses, colored floating candles, rose petals, mystic crystals, candies, fruit and more. You could place martini glasses at each place setting or have them organized in a dramatic display at the martini bar.

Lounge ~ For a martini themed wedding what could be more perfect than having lounge chairs placed around the perimeter of the dance floor for your guests to kick back in, sip their martinis and watch those guests brave enough to cut loose on the dance floor? Check out Lounge Appeal for event furniture rental options.
And, in keeping with the lounge atmosphere, lighting should be soft (think candles and dimly lit lights). Make sure though that your candles are not strongly scented. We don't want anyone going home with a headache from strongly scented candles.
Worried about the costs of your martini bar adding up? Place Martini Themed Drink Tickets at each place setting. When your guests have used up their drink tickets, the bar can become a cash bar for them.
